Location: 100% Remote
Title: Category Specialist
Hourly rate: $14 to $16 per hour
The Category Specialist will work with the designated Category Manager(s) to support and maintain our brand and customer experience by driving product sales through price optimization, promotional planning, assortment productivity, cost negotiations, and product placement. We are looking for an individual that is opportunistic, customer-focused and that can partner with cross-functional teams (ie. Supply Chain, Planning, Business Development, Marketing and Digital Merchandising) to surpass financial objectives. It will be imperative that this person demonstrates the problem-solving and analytical skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

You Will:
• Work with Planning, Allocations, Merchandising and Pricing Teams to execute the new item setup process for all retail stores.
• Source, input and manage inventory information in SC/DC
• Assist Category Manager(s) in pricing and positioning of category products
• Establish a deep understanding of Gopuff’s retail stores and e-premise business, internal processes, and overall assortment (specific categories of focus will be identified after joining)
• Partner with Supply Chain to maintain in-stock levels to support a customer first mentality
• Maintain costing, and product catalog information
• Complete Ad-hoc reports and tasks for beverage-alcohol team
You Have:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing, Finance, Business, or Economics is a plus)
• 2+ years of related experience
• Must have knowledge of Merchandising, Marketing, Financial Planning, and overall Supply Chain
• Experience in convenience or CPG is a plus, as is Alcohol
• Capable of taking initiative, ownership, and accountability for the business
• Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency
• Management, training and development experience is required
• Affinity for using research, syndicated data, and consumer-specific insights to inform creative and productive decision-making as it pertains to assortment and category management
• Must possess a demonstrable ability to navigate a wide spectrum of product lines specific to our customer
• Must have strong computer skills – proficiency with excel is required
• Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Awareness of our current brand and product mix and initial insight to opportunities
