We are seeking a Cloud Engineer for a Remote contract role with one of our key clients, a global leader in the CPG space. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for the design, implementation, and ongoing operational efforts of the infrastructure services, server OS, MDM service, patch deployment/protection, backup and restoration, directory service capabilities, and certificate management.

Cloud Engineer Responsibilities:

·       Development of Infrastructure Services strategy to support standard-based directory services, single sign-on solutions, server processing and storage consolidation, standard backup and restoration services, comprehensive security and patch protection capabilities, and a robust services infrastructure.

·       Ongoing maintenance and advancement of the server environment through effective engineering and implementation of solutions, which support the user and application needs of the organization.

·       Installs and maintains cloud-based applications, systems, or associated infrastructures.

·       Analyzes and defines business requirements to determine specifications and standards; proposes and develops solutions.

·       Deploys and oversees implementation and integration of web-based applications, ensuring that appropriate information security standards are met.

·       Architect, deploy, and administer computing services in various Cloud Infrastructure providers.

·       Troubleshoot Converged Infrastructure Systems to resolve compute, storage, network and other infrastructure problems.

·       Engineer and perform Capacity Management for Infrastructure Solutions & Services Monitors system uptime and performance, troubleshooting and resolving errors.

·       Stays informed of emerging cloud technologies and evaluates their value to the organization’s operations.

Cloud Engineer Requirements:

·       BS Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.

·       Requires experience with one or more cloud computing platforms.

·       Expert level experience with server-level operating systems (Windows & Linux), facilitating high-level engineering, architectural design and support.

·       Experience with Desktop Virtualization.

·       Experience with Windows Active Directory Services and Identity Management Solutions.

·       Experience with automation/configuration management.

·       Expertise in continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and practices.

·       Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required).

·       Understanding of code and scripting languages (PHP, Python, Perl, Powershell and/or Ruby) – Experience with Linux.

·       Expertise in automated build and deploy processes and tools.

·       Experience monitoring and designing solutions for the cloud.

·       Expert level knowledge of distributed version control systems like GIT.

·       Experience working on Agile.




Key Responsibilities:

1. Tools Management: in the first 6 mos, the majority of time will be spent implementing and configuring the tools

• Administer, configure, and maintain tools, including Reltio,, Databricks and Syniti – to ensure optimum performance and usability. The config may not be in place for all of these tools – tool admin activity – this person needs to be essentially a PLATFORM ADMIN working with these new tools!! If someone is a Cloud Admin in their past life but can help understand how these tools will be administered.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and tailor tool settings to meet specific project needs.

2. User Support and Training:

• Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and offer guidance on best practices for utilizing the specified tools – via calls and via emails – not ongoing support, but will need this support during tool implementation

• Conduct training sessions and create documentation to empower users in effectively utilizing the tools – for internal stakeholders

3. Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security protocols and access controls for the specified tools to safeguard sensitive data.

• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and company policies.

4. Integration and Data Flow Management:

• Oversee the integration of, Databricks, Syniti and Reltio with other systems in the data ecosystem.

• Monitor data flows, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for efficient data processing.

5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Regularly monitor system performance metrics, analyze trends, and proactively address any performance bottlenecks or issues.

• Implement optimizations and improvements to enhance tool performance.

6. Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery plans for the specified tools to ensure data integrity and availability.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures related to the specified tools.

• Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into tool performance and usage.

• Perform administrator responsibilities, tasks, and duties on the other analytics tool during discovery/poc of new tools.

• Perform backup duties when a primary lead administrator is unavailable.


• MUST HAVE: Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a Tools Administrator with EITHER: Data Bricks, Reltio, Syniti, Data.World etc.

• Experience working on SAAS platform is required.

• Proficiency in administering and configuring the specified tools, deeply understanding their functionalities and capabilities.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

• Knowledge of data security best practices and experience implementing access controls.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
