Quality Manager

Our client is an Aerospace Certified Plating Facility located in the Finger lakes region is seeking a career-oriented Quality Manager to oversee and facilitate all daily quality functions. Our facility is a mid-size company that is growing rapidly. This key management position will oversee our client’s AS9100 quality system and work with senior management to advance the company’s accreditations. This position will have the responsibility to manage multiple employees within the quality departmental discipline and facility continuous improvement.
• Manage the AS9100D Quality System and work with operations to facilitate continual improvement projects.
• Review and interpret customer specifications for new jobs to identify all quality requirements.
• Responsible for managing and supporting the Quality Inspectors and Laboratory technicians.
• Work with Manufacturing areas to resolve non-conformances and create short- and long-term solutions for continuous improvement.
• Communicate with customers when necessary to facilitate resolution.
• Work with Lab Technician to manage waste streams processes.
• Manage process tank maintenance scheduling.
• Work with the senior management team to develop and implement business growth strategy.
Requirements
- Previous Quality Management position 5+ years of experience overseeing a quality team within the aviation and aerospace plating industry.
- Previous experience with Quality Systems (AS9100), required.
- Experience writing QSWI’s and SOP’s Proficiency in Word and Excel, required. (pivot tables, formulas-intermediate)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of QMS systems.
- Comes from the plating and metal finishing industry-Aviation & Aerospace
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and GD&T (geometric dimensions and tight tolerances).
- Minimum Requirement: Associate’s degree in chemistry or equivalent experience, preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of metal finishing operations specific to Anodizing, Chromate, Phosphate, Electroless Nickel, Tin, and Nickel electroplating, preferred.
- Previous experience with Nadcap, preferred but not required.
