Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes the results of new clients whose identities are compared against various public record sources. Resolves exception items within established departmental guidelines by researching information via our internal and external business systems and corresponds with clients as needed.
Obtains legal documentation and all required customer information in compliance with the USA PATRIOT Act CIP. Determines the acceptability of all identification documents received. Effectively identifies and elevates to management any unique situations encountered through the normal course of business.
Consults and responds to internal business areas pertaining to questions about organizational documents including articles of incorporation, trust agreements etc.
Maintains CIP documentation including updating policies, procedure and workflows at least annually or as needed based on process changes.
Assists in reviewing and analyzing internal reports used to detect questionable/suspicious activity as needed inclusive of performing Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) screening.
Assists in monitoring the Foreign Investor Policy (FIP) which monitors Vanguard’s existing and new foreign client base (assigned duty).
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the new account process, i.e. registrations, account types, channels and new account forms.
Participates in formal and informal educational activities, including presentations, staff meetings and CIP.
Participates in and actively supports corporate initiatives like Vanguard Unmatchable Excellence, Gallup Action Planning, etc.
Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
High school required; Undergraduate degree preferred.
Minimum of two years general business experience with experience in financial services, banking, or related industry.
Working knowledge of retail systems including WAVE, AWD, Encorr required.
Familiarity with new account process preferred.
Excellent computer skills required including a broad knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Access.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
