PRIMARY FUNCTION: To answer all incoming calls in a timely manner, process and route them appropriately according to nature of call.

Responds accurately to a high volume of calls demonstrating exceptional customer service skills

Ensures that all patients are correctly and efficiently scheduled and registered in the Ambulatory EMR

Schedule appointments according to Access Center/Practice guidelines

Accurately document and route phone notes

Accurately document prescription refills

Demonstrates sound judgement of escalating urgent calls

Ability to multi-task with typing and talking simultaneously

Utilizes Service Recovery methodology when service issues arise

Able to demonstrate superior customer service skills and provide service recovery on calls

Interacts with patients, physicians and office staff in a positive and professional manner to provide accurate communication

  • Explaining policies, procedures, or services to patients using medical or administrative knowledge
  • Utilize Access Center online resources to keep up to date on Departmental procedures and guidelines

Continually promotes a positive patient encounter as the first impression of the Christiana Care Health System

· Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to Supervisor in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors

· Performs other related duties as required
